Ok so I fiddled a little with the camera angles here to force a climbing feeling to the landscape. I was trying to get close to this fallen tree and capture as much texture as possible while catching the whole branch. It wasn’t working out. The broken end at the base was full of textures, but it just wasn’t pretty. I then looked to capture the meandering branch and framed it so the eye could wander the whole structure. All this focus on the branch kept my eye away from the rocky landscape behind it. When I first saw the rocks, they felt flat, so I ignored them as background noise. As I edited the image and tilted it vertically, I started feeling like I was about to fall up a mountainside. I loved that and kept it.
