In a small wooded area in the middle of our suburban neighbourhood, are the remnants of a farmer’s wall. Bits of walls can be seen all over the older neighbourhoods, especially the ones that still have older homes. This old wooded area was a favourite hangout for us as teens in the 80’s, back when we always went outside! When we didn’t worry about forest fires, because we knew how to keep our mini-bonfires contained. When we didn’t seem to worry much about anything except how to talk to the cute girl/boy we hoped would show up at the fire. Simpler days, I guess. Where was I going with all this? Oh, right… we are probably the reason the walls got dismantled, as we looked fr stones to make the fire pits and to sit on.
