I really had fun with this one, because I just couldn’t catch what was hiding in the dark. It’s in there and looking out from the mid-left side, under all the twigs. The eye is barely visible. When I realized it might be frightened, I pulled away to leave it be. When I was editing the shot, I still couldn’t get a clear image of it. It wasn’t meant to be. The strange thing will remain a mystery. What I did get to highlight were the gorgeous grays in the branches. I invite you to lean in, but not too close. I feel the bashful creature hiding there just might still be afraid.

Might be a gnome or a little creature still unknown to us, curious, looking out from the twigs. Wondering who you are… Maybe he or she ran home and told the story about you, the way you tell this story to us. I love to imagine stories and fairytales, the world is full of them if we only took the time to look, and listen.

I agree with you completely. Daydreaming and imagination are gifts. I love using them.
