I really needed to dive into this one this morning and the only thing I knew was that I needed to start blending lighter colour onto the backgrounds to add volume to the composition. Oddly, I started with some light colours (yellow) on the face vase and then added green to the flower stocks, followed by the lavender flowers themselves… I kept playing with dry-brushing hints of colours onto the three models then, and only then I jumped onto the backgrounds.
I’m still far from satisfied with it… I think the green at the bottom is really bothering me and needs some… something! WhenI’m feeling this tension to continue and uncertainty to overdue it, because I’ve not allowed myself time to consider possibilities… that’s the perfect time to stand back and let the next steps grow in my imagination.
