There is so much going one right now that I’m surprised I remember how to breathe. I do believe this is what my passing thoughts look like these days: a quiet blur in a single direction. I continued to play with the extra paints from a massive, blue abstract I’m working on and just let myself go and do whatever my gut told me to. This face formed early and I resisted the impulse to add and add and add details… just add on paint and see what comes. The initial knifing of blue was really thick and I dec idea to scrape in the face… the rest took physical minutes (= hours of staring at it) spread over many days.
