I know very little about orchids other than their beauty and my own challenges at keeping them alive (a certain level of neglect seems to be required).
The plants I’ve had are amazingly resilient and produce flowers over the years, even after appearing dead. It’s no surprise to hear that some species have found a way to entice and help pollinators. I look forward to hearing more about this and if there are other plants we can have in colder climes to help our pollinators.
When I lived for a year in the Philippines our landlord grew orchids. They were so beautiful. I have tried to grow them here – but no luck!
