As stated yesterday, the beachfront wasn’t complete when I started on the figure, but it will be over the next few images…
On the figure I dove in with some Payne’s Grey for the black areas and played with a little vermillion hue for the pants and transitions between the black and white lines on the shirt. I immediately blended on the titanium white and allowed the pin kiss hue to form so as to not have a flat white.
I also blended in for Crimson red on the shorts to add some volume. Again here I realize the limits of less opaque and glossy paints… I need to look closer for matte reds on my next visit to the art store.
The hair base is always Payne’s Grey for my self-portraits, then I add in all the natural highlights I see in my own hair.
Stay tuned…
Lookin’ good!
