The look, the gaze, the pose of this character is curious. What is it looking at? he subject is mysterious, almost ancient Egyptian, but with a strangely modern twist… the striped shirt. The white-ish slab behind the figure adds to the hieroglyphic feel. The contradictions in the composition, including the music notes behind the figure, all draw you in and ask you to engage in inquiry… what is this about? You tell me.
