I’m sure I took this idea from another artist I saw on Pinterest during one of many “weird animal drawings” searches. The colours and dimensions might have been changed from the original, but the disconnected bird-head floating far in front of the non-bird-body feels familiar. The strange, nowhere, dreamlike atmosphere of the composition is only enhanced by the clouds that look like water or tea stains on the music sheets. An amazing thing, to me, is that I could get this vibrancy with crayons. It took a lot of blending and applications. There’s a deep sadness on the figure’s face that adds to the disconnected feeling… I’m not sure why it’s there, and my uncertainty is what contributed to the title this work.
