I played with the sun a little on this morning; playing hide and seek throughout the macro view of the camera lens. This is a whole series dedicated to seeing differently. It felt like a great extension of my current desire to take a look closer at stuff. The bright morning sun gave a little help.
A little while back, before COVID isolation, I had some of my students do a similar photography project… I asked them to take macro shots, to take shots emphasizing light and shadows, shots that could say something about themselves. A few of them combined the individual directives, so I felt I could too.
What do these macros that play with light say about me? Well, maybe I can leave that to others to decide for themselves. I can tell you that this series falls into my love of exploring materials in different ways (different for me, at least); my love of textures and light; my love of getting lost in the fantasies my mind makes up when looking at abstracts.
