It’s amazing how strong and vibrant the sunrise gets in the Spring over Montreal. There’s always lots of humidity in the air to haze the brightness, but the sun feels like it’s burning through it all to touch us with the hope of Spring and the promise of warmth in Summer. If you can imagine the original of this shot was all Cerulean blue, yellow-white, pastel pinks, and hints of green. When I pulled back the colour it revealed the eerie shadows the clouds. It looks like they are swirling together to fight back against the sun… are they Winter’s allies making a show to be loyal to it. Their effort feel halfhearted as if they know they will always fail against the sun.
