I was looking for shades of indigo that I might use to get new paint colours for another art project and fell upon my favourite messenger of Springtime. These amazing flowers pop up as the first signs of Spring and often when the snow is still around them. We had a few really dry and warm days early this year and these seemed to stay much longer than usual. As you can see, the other plants shot up quickly around them. I moved my lens into them and caught these purple beauties in a pose that looks like they are getting ready to go back to sleep for another year… to rest until they will emerge again next Spring.
