What happens when all we can see is differences. Not seeing eye to eye is often a choice to not listen and consider another perspective. These two figures are similar in many ways, and yet they chose to focus on their differences and even turn them into hatred. The facial expressions are angry and mistrustful; the body language is intollerent and full of disdain. The pink and yellow background colours would normally be joyful, but with the powerful emoting of the black and white figures, it turns into an open and soar wound.

The music sheet behind them is a hymn to glorify God… perhaps these two figures have engaged in an argument about personal dogmas and beliefs, only to lose respect for each other in their mutual inability to consider other views.

How do you feel when you consider this drawing?

More to come…
